LA Screen Acting & Production Residency Program

The Stonestreet Screen Acting & Production Residency is one of NYU Tisch Drama’s advanced training studios, dedicated solely to the unique art of screen acting & production of films with insight into the human condition, socially conscious and meaningful films. The Stonestreet Residency in Los Angeles, every June includes actors, directors, writers, producers & production hyphenates, Los Angeles based screen actors who have worked and trained in our residency program in New York, or with special permission have interviewed and auditioned for a spot in the program.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Stonestreet LA is an immersive and experiential working environment that allows students to "try" LA, forging valued and coveted relationships with the LA film community, casting directors, agents, and managers, pivotal to the formation of a professional career and well-rounded portfolio. Successful completion of the program leaves students with a polished original pilot, film or series, as well as a newfound familiarity with the LA landscape. Through working developmentally in a workshop and production environment and preparatory audition workshops for and with industry professionals, actors stretch their screen presence alongside their career management skills, on and off set during and around production work. 

Our guest artists, professional agents and casting directors continue to work with us regularly in our weekly industry evenings giving valuable evaluation feedback, strengthening screen auditions and establishing valuable connections for each actor.

ABOUT STONESTREET STUDIOS

Stonestreet Studios is celebrating 33 years as an incubator of socially conscious, character driven, and culturally provocative projects featuring emerging talent coming through Stonestreet’s unique Screen Acting and Production Residency Program. The Screen Acting and Production Residency Program was created by Alyssa Rallo Bennett in 1990 to be part of Stonestreet Studios a City-based fully operative, multi-purpose, visual motion picture production studio founded by Alyssa and Gary Bennett – a director/writer/producer team.
