Michael Kirshner is a filmmaker, cinematographer, photographer, and writer born and raised in Los Angeles but now based in Brooklyn. A lifelong lover of stories, visual arts, and collaboration, Michael found his passion for filmmaking through directing for theatre and being a hobby street photographer. He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and began working on independent films and new media productions in a variety of roles, developing a reputation as a jack-of-all-trades, of sorts, as well as his craft as a cinematographer. Now he works as one of Stonestreet's resident Directors of Photography and Editors.

In addition to Stonestreet, Michael spends his spare time writing and working on his own projects or with friends. He's recently had two independent projects featured at festivals such as NewFest and Inside Out. He can also be found at the movies, out with friends, working on his cooking skills, and playing with his very talkative cat, Joni.
